Mitsubishi Electric Launches New Company in Brazil for Sales and Service of Factory Automation Products

Tokyo, August 1, 2012 - Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that it has established a new company in Sao Paulo, Brazil to strengthen its computerized numerical controller (CNC) business in the Brazilian market.

Tokyo, August 1, 2012 - Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that it has established a new company in Sao Paulo, Brazil to strengthen its computerized numerical controller (CNC) business in the Brazilian market. The new company, MELCO CNC do Brasil Comèrcio e Serviços S.A., will target annual sales of USD 25 million by March 2016.
In July, 2012, in order to quickly position itself to meet rapidly growing demand in the Brazilian market, Mitsubishi Electric signed a business transfer agreement to purchase the CNC sales and service division of Automotion Industria, Comèrcio Importacao e Exportacao Ltda., a local sales and service agency with high technical capabilities that has provided Mitsubishi Electric CNCs and factory automation products and components to Brazilian machine tool manufacturers for the past 20 years.

The newly established company will expand local sales and service capabilities by increasing personnel, including Japanese staff from Mitsubishi Electric, further enhancing Mitsubishi Electric's ability to provide local servicing for the rapidly increasing number of machine tools imported from countries such as Japan and Taiwan. MELCO CNC do Brasil Comèrcio e Serviços also intends to establish regional offices in southern and northeastern Brazil, regions that are expected to enjoy high economic growth following Sao Paulo State.

Building on this existing business base, Mitsubishi Electric will position the new company within its global service network as an important hub in South America, strengthening its business structure in the region.

The Brazilian market is now anticipating continuous growth, backed by rich mineral and food resources, as well as the privatization of state-owned corporations in the steel, mining, electrical power, and finance industries. In addition, the market growth is attracting manufacturers, including automobile makers from Japan and other countries. The hosting of several major international sporting events within the next few years is also expected to stimulate local capital investment for related facilities, further expanding the machine tool market.

Home Cinema Laser Display

Mitsubishi Electric presented the first European demo of the world's first large-screen Home Cinema Laser Display at IFA 2011
Mitsubishi Electric presented the first European demo of the world's first large-screen Home Cinema Laser Display at IFA 2011September, 2011

Mitsubishi Electric is the world’s first manufacturer to develop Home Cinema Laser Displays and successfully bring them to market.

At IFA 2011, Mitsubishi did exhibit its pioneering 3D Home Cinema Laser Display technology for the first time in Europe. Under the slogan "Three Dimensional Cinema Colour" the Laser-Display, with its 75" screen surrounded by a narrow, silver-coloured frame, promises to deliver 'huge' film and video game experiences in both 2D and 3D.

The laser technology from Mitsubishi Electric has revolutionised the large-screen experience and should also excite industry experts and sets new standards in the field of home cinema with its unbelievably realistic cinema quality colour reproduction, extreme picture clarity and extraordinary depth of sharpness – all with only half the power consumption of comparable flat-screen televisions.

Because of the large interest of European end-users Mitsubishi was demonstrating the Home Cinema Laser Display, and conducting a market study to test the reaction of consumers and resellers to its laser displays which have already been very successfully marketed in the USA for some years now.

Depending of the outcome of this market study Mitsubishi will decide if the product will be sold in Europe.

The introduction of the Home Cinema Laser Display to the European market would be unique in that no other manufacturer currently offers this technology.

The Home Cinema Laser Display is a full 3D HD-device, offering viewers films, games and television programmes in unrivalled 2D or 3D image quality. Additionally, Mitsubishi Electric is developing 'Cinema Colour' for the consumer sector with its laser display technology and 6-colour processor. This generates a colour space that is around twice the size of a traditional flat-screen television, creating an authentic experience with a colour spectrum not yet achieved in home cinema. The smooth 120 File Motion (120 Hz) allows for high-precision detail and sharpness even for motion sequences.

HC9000 Advanced

Mitsubishi Electric upgrades premium class HC9000 (Avanced), with additional smart features for the ultimate home cinema in 2D and 3D
Mitsubishi Electric upgrades premium class HC9000 (Avanced), with additional smart features for the ultimate home cinema in 2D and 3D

September, 2011

At IFA this year, Mitsubishi Electric introduced the next generation of its highly successful HC9000 Cinema Projector – the HC9000 (Advanced) with Full HD 3D capabilities.

With the added features in the new advanced model that include state-of-the-art image analysis capabilities, Mitsubishi will further enhance the performance of the HC9000 premium range. The HC9000 series is already a top range premium product in 2D (with 3D capabilities), featuring active shutter technology and innovative 240 Hz technology.

The new 3D Frame Rate feature, along with the SXRD panel, provide a more fluent and authentic 3D image sequence, even at very high display speeds and fast colour changes. Depending on the source, the new software generates up to four times the number of available images per second.

The projector’s Colour Management System has undergone fine-tuning. Established technologies such as colour management for individual single colour configurations are further enhanced by features such as the cinema filter, which optimises the projectors green display for a natural colour experience. As a result, the HC9000 (A) achieves consistent colour reproduction quality on a par with professional cinema.

At the optical core of the HC9000 (A) is also a 0.61”-3 SXRD panel, making three-dimensional content display in full HD possible (1,920 x 1,080 pixels). Additionally, the projectors new features allow for sharp, colour-intensive, fluent images in cinema quality. Its near record-breaking maximum contrast ratio of 150,000:1, at an image brightness of 1,100 ANSI lumens, creates particular image sharpness and brilliance as well as black values never before achieved.

The 1.8 times power zoom lens is far superior to traditional lenses with its light concentration, colour authenticity and reproduction. In order that images from different data sources are displayed at a consistent high quality, a high-performance HQV processor converts them for full HD reproduction. Even with projector installation, the lens shift function allows for maximum installation flexibility.

The HC 9000 (A) is available in high-gloss black or white casing.
