The work developed by the organization has attracted as members virtually all American companies with operations in Brazil, as well as multinationals from over 40 countries and a great number of large size Brazilian companies. As a result, Amcham-Brasil is now the biggest among the 104 American Chambers there are in the world.
Over these more than 90 years of existence Amcham-Brasil has made major contributions for the development of the business environment both in Brazil and in the U.S.A., working to support important principles, such as respect towards the society and the environment, democracy, free initiative, freedom of speech, intellectual property, entrepreneurism and innovation, and the improvement and strengthening of institutions.
The key main purpose of Amcham is to strongly support the free enterprise system (“For a better business environment”) as well as promote the strengthening of Brazil / U.S. economic and commercial relationship.
Amcham-Brasil has approximately five thousand member companies and is present in 11 Brazilian cities – Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Campinas, São Paulo, Ribeirão Preto, Belo Horizonte, Uberlândia, Goiânia, Brasília, Salvador and Recife –, having a nationwide level of representativeness.
We represent the interests of companies of several industry sectors, sizes and nationalities, and support free initiative and the promotion of closer relations between Brazil and the U.S.A., bearing in mind the constant search for innovation, modernization and investment generation.
