Moscow overtakes London with Europe's largest tower

Moscow has just overtaken London in having Europe's tallest building. The Mercury tower in Moscow financial district is now officially taller than London's Shard which is based on London's South Bank. The Mercury tower cost over € 1 billion to construct and has been measured at 29 meters higher than the Shard, the total height of the Mercury tower is 338.8 meters. There has been a lot of construction in recent years in Moscow where now there is the tallest building in Europe. This lifts the profile of Moscow as a modern city and a place to do business.
